Programs Weekend Program A vein of the iWord campaign, Weekend Program '08 was developed by a multi-generational group of women building a curriculum for our summer youth program and producing their own art. Al-Noor School Program This project introduces an AWAAM Media Instructors and an Al-Noor Psychology teacher into ninth grade English and 12th Grade Civics classes for girls at Al-Noor High School, a non-profit Islamic School in Brooklyn. The Civics teacher guides students in writing projects and exercises that will help students approach Civics topics from their own “back yards.” The English teacher guides students in creative writing and public speaking exercises. The Psychology teacher provides additional support. Activities in English and Civics are tailored to guide students in producing works that address that address issues affecting them. Students develop skills in creative writing, composition, syntax, critical thinking, sharing ideas, and observation. In addition, students learn to give and receive constructive criticism on works in progress. Summer Program SUMMER PROGRAM '08 begins in June.
